Standards of Ethical Conduct

Dear Members of the Cornell University Community:

The integrity of the university depends on our collective efforts to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct.

I am writing to remind you that Cornell University has mechanisms in place (a telephone hotline and an Internet site) through which members of the university community, as well as those outside the university, can report concerns about financial matters, environmental health and safety, billing compliance, research and other ethical issues that impact the university.

Generally, faculty, staff and students should discuss their concerns about perceived irregularities with their colleagues, supervisors, department chair or dean. In cases where it may be desirable to bring concerns to the university's attention anonymously, however, I hope you will consider using the Cornell hotline (1-866-293-3077) or the Internet-based system (www.hotline.cornell.edu), both of which are administered by EthicsPoint to provide anonymity.

Thank you for all that you do.

Best regards,

David J. Skorton
President
